We Are Thankful for This Community

95 YEARS.

That’s a long, long, long-long-long time. When George Frasier opened up shop on the west side of town, back in 1918, I highly doubt he had any clue what would come of his little plumbing shop. Or for that matter, what kind of community Rhinelander and the Northwoods would grow in to.

Back in 1918, most of Rhinelander did not have electricity – much less running water and sanitary bathrooms in every home.

The dome on top of the Oneida County Courthouse was brand new from the recently completed re-construction.

Home Air Conditioning meant opening your windows.

Home heating meant stoking the wood or coal stove.

The Green Bay Packers did not exist yet.

George Frasier 1929

A lot has changed in the 5 generations of Frasier’s since George opened shop. I (J Frasier) am presently typing this blog post up on a laptop from the comfort of my living room. It’s freezing cold outside, but because I have a high-efficiency furnace, I’m completely comfortable and hardly see the effects of heating my home on my utility bill. A state-of-the-art high-efficiency pump and water heater gave my two toddlers a simple (albeit destructive and noisy) warm bath earlier today – no hauling or stove-top heating of water required.

We have been installing “smart” thermostats in your homes for the last few years, but are now installing systems that can sense danger or system malfunctions to protect you and yours in case of emergencies in your home. We don’t even have to be home to change the temperature anymore.

And we have grown. Oh, have we grown. The cool thing is that we have grown as our community has. Rhinelander used to be a town that just shipped out paper – which is still a great thing we do. But now, we have gained a reputation for cranking out some great citizens who have positively affected the region and the state. The same goes for Frasier’s. We started out hauling toilets on the back of horse-drawn carts. Now, our techs are taking their “duck trucks” all across the Northwoods, including Oneida, Vilas, Lincoln, Marathon, Langlade, Forest, and more.

We couldn’t have done this without you – our customers and friends. We recently did a count of all the families who has trusted us to serve them over the years. The results blew our minds.

WE DISCOVERED THAT IN THE LAST 95 YEARS, WE HAVE SERVED 82% OF ALL HOMEOWNERS WHO HAVE BUILT A LIFE HERE IN RHINELANDER.

We’ll spare you the math, but the number is quite humbling for us.

Even more humbling is something that we still experience on a regular basis. Our techs constantly hear stories like, “Does Floyd still work there? Oh man, Floyd worked on the plumbing at my folk's house for years.” Or, one of you will come into the shop and tell Amy, Tina, or Annette about the time David or Bruce Frasier came to your home in the middle of a blizzard to get your furnace working again.

And we often hear stories about multiple generations of families that our multi-generation family business has had the honor of serving.

Thank you for your support and friendship. You are what makes this community so great and exciting to be a part of still!

As always, our techs will be ready – day or night – over the Holiday for you and your family should any need for emergency service comes up.

Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless!
