Nest Protect and Thermostat: Perfect for Rhinelander & Wausau

We have some really exciting news for Northwoods homeowners!

NEST, the company that brought us the first genuinely easy to use, smart, AND visually appealing thermostat has rolled out a new home safety product: a smart smoke & CO detector called “Protect”.

Nest detect

The smart detector has a myriad of features:

  • It tests itself constantly.
  • It sends data to it’s app on your phone or tablet on it’s battery and the status of the room it’s in.
  • It doesn’t shreek at you – there is an actual voice that says what the issue is.
  • It doesn’t chirp when the battery is low. It has the app to tell you and also has a very easy to see status light.
  • To shut if off without your phone (say, when you are frying delicious bacon), all you have to do is wave at it.
  • It comes (for now) in white and black.
  • You can disable it from your phone or tablet.
  • You can monitor it while away from your home (great for 2nd homeowners).

And here’s our favorite part: When used with the NEST thermostat, it will turn off your furnace if it detects dangerous Carbon Monoxide levels – and it will notify you that it did.

We feel that this kind of technology is going to be the standard in homes very soon.

It’s safer.

It’s easier.

It’s just plain smarter.

No more climbing on the counter when you burn the eggs.

Now, they did just launch the product yesterday, so it is only available for pre-order at this time.

That being said, we feel very strongly that this is the perfect solution for many of our customers – particularly those who live out of our service area, but own a 2nd home or cottage here.

To that end, we would love to help out. If you would like the peace of mind that this kind of system would provide, we will pre-order the Protect with a NEST thermostat for you. No muss, no fuss, no hassle on your end.

To get yours lined up, simply fill out our normal service scheduling form with your information and that you would like us to take care of this for you.
